Q1. What types of remodeling projects do you specialize in?
A: We are primarily engaged in Kitchen and Bathroom projects full-time. We do not do “outdoor” projects as a target, except for knowing how to arrange it. In some cases we deviate from Kitchen and Bath when the opportunity comes up. One example is with basement finishes. We finish a basement per year, on the average, and oftentimes these projects include a bathroom and kitchenette (bar) area. Other home-improvement needs are easily incorporated into our scope of work. If you need a new concrete driveway and/or sidewalks, we have close relationships with these subcontractors, and can manage the projects for you. Anything to do with your property…roofing, gutters, garage organizers, patio updates… you name it, we can provide it, but we get most of our calls for Kitchens, Bathrooms, and the occasional basement finish. It’s ALL construction, and if we weren’t so good at it, we wouldn’t be called back time after time by the same homeowners! (By the way… referrals get rewarded!)
Q2. Do you provide free estimates?
A: Sure, it is normal to help homeowners learn what these projects end up costing. That is what we call a budget. To put together a complete estimate takes a lot of research into what a homeowner wants to achieve. If a relationship of trust is formed, the estimating process becomes transparent and evolving. Everything costs more today than it did a few years ago, including the cost of living. These factors have driven up the basic budget. As higher priced components are used, it naturally raises the end costs. There is a relationship between the cost of the material (influenced by quality), the time it takes to produce an end result, and the integrity of the build… AND the quality of the relationship between the homeowner and contractor determines how enjoyable the whole experience is – from Concept To Completion.
Q3. How long does a typical renovation take?

A:  Of course the length of time it takes to complete a project depends on many factors. IF the objective is to flip a kitchen or a bathroom fast (faster than normal), then the focus is on TIME. To achieve the goal, overtime and additional fast ship variables come into play. A basic kitchen can take four to six weeks to complete if all of the variables are considered. Bathrooms take less time, and basement finish projects (including a bathroom and bar/kitchenette), can extend a few months. Of course, if a homeowner is willing to speed it up, then dedicated subcontractors may take portions of the project, but the cost may increase as a result.

Q4. Are you licensed and insured?
A: These projects are sometimes difficult given the severity of the condition to start with. It involves plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and structural integrity. Older homes are not up to current codes. This requires that competent craft persons be involved. If these experts aren’t insured, they shouldn’t be on the job. Ultimate supervision maintains that the homeowner is not put at risk. Proof of insurance is always available.
